And Then There Were 10
A few minutes ago, I finished writing the 10th song for “Untitled Dailies Record #2.” Catchy title, huh?
10 is sort of a magic number for me. 10 is a record. I’ve been making and burning a Dailies playlist in iTunes, updating it as each of these past 5 songs have been created and demoed. It’s been a pleasure having them with me… getting to know them… messing with their order, to see how they feel… stuff like that.
I’m going to keep writing through the weekend, as the creative juices have been flowing of late. I’d love to get above 10, so that we can either have a longer project or make some cuts down to the strongest candidates. It’s strange, however, that one major phase of this thing is almost complete. It’s the hardest phase, if you ask me. I compare it to laying the foundation and framing the house, with all the fun stuff still to come… like picking curtains. Ok, so that’s not very fun, but you get the idea.
I mentioned in a previous post that I was trying to write 7 songs in 21 days. I confess that we might not quite make it, but I think 5 songs in 17 days is still pretty darn cool. I’m gonna start posting demos, or snippets of demos soon, as well as some commentary about them. I love my little new children… hope you will too.

Another album? Awesome! Man, it took me forever to find your guys’ website.
I can’t wait for the next album. My Aunt Kathy gave me a copy of “What It Is” and I love it! A second album… would be totally awesome.
Hey Kristin! You have the honor of being our first drive-by comment! I know the site is hard to find. I’ve actually been blogging for a month and I haven’t “publicized” yet. Just so focused on this songwriting binge I’ve been on. Trust me, our position on Google is one of my major projects.
We also just started talking to a friend who does video production, and we’re gonna start posting Video Blogs telling the story of The Dailies next month on YouTube and here as well.
So glad to hear you liked the first record… Do I know your Aunt Kathy?
Come back… more to hear and see in the weeks to come. I’m gonna start posting the demos for the new songs.
Ha, yeah, it’s kind of funny. I look up “the dailies what it is CD” … and I get a cookbook! Oh my.
That would be cool to see stuff on YouTube–get to know The Dailies a little better. Like, how you chose your name.
No, I don’t think you know my Aunt Kathy, but maybe. She said she went to a Bible study with your wife, Erica.
Picking curtains ISN’T fun???
