Habit Forming

We have a blog now. Blogs need content. Content comes from… well… us. I’ve blogged before, but it’s been at a friend’s communal blog. There I would (and continue to) have brain droppings about everything from film to faith to masculinity and sexuality and beyond.

But this is our blog. No other authors will keep things interesting if I’m not here, every day, creating content. Not only creating content to read, but content for the eyes and ears.

This is our blog, our public record. Although surely some of this will find it’s way in, this place is not just about the mundane, the comings and goings, the dailies from which we derive our name. This is a record of our quest to sustain ourselves writing and performing original music.

Therefore, we must write. We must create. I have nothing to share with you other than these thoughts today. Today is for me. Most of you will never even find this page, save perhaps a few of you who discover us in the weeks and months and years to come. Perhaps if you’ve found this, perhaps if you’ve sifted through the content of this blog all the way back here, perhaps it will mean something to you. If so, welcome back to the beginning… or the middle… or… whatever stage this is. It feels like a beginning, but neophytes we are not. It feels like a middle, but we’ve only just begun.

It certainly isn’t the end. It’s just the forming of a habit. I’m heading back into Logic now, trying to write a song that we’ll love to sing, and that you’ll love to hear. More tomorrow. Or perhaps the day after.

Habits aren’t formed overnight, now, are they?

Chad: Enjoyed reading this and also (sort of like walking past a newly poured concrete sidewalk) had an irresistible urge to be the first one to put my handprint in/on it. Sorry if I messed it up.
