Remy, my Muse

Hanging from the shockmount of our microphone is a cheap, plastic, happy-meal-lookin’, Remy the Rat from Ratatouille. I think my daughter got it out of a 25 cent gumball machine, most likely hoping for stickers instead. She was uninterested, and gave it to me.

I was totally passionate about the film. Not only is it perhaps the single most visually striking and beautiful piece of animation I’ve ever seen, but the themes of excellence and artistry spoke right to my heart.

I keep Remy in front of me when I’m singing these demos. A plastic rat is my muse.

I’ve got 2 new tunes in just over 7 days, by the way… so I’m a little behind, but it’s been a thrilling week.
