We’re #1
…well, at least on Google.
Yup, our friend Mike pointed out this morning that this website is now the #1 hit if you google “The Dailies”
This is a big deal to me. I remember Kristen, whom we are officially naming #1 Superfan, telling us in a post here that she had a hard time finding us a few short months ago. This was distressing. In the digital age, internet ease-of-use is paramount, and we’re still not as far as we need to be in terms of having a solid presence here.
For several weeks now, we’ve been #2 or #3. I figured we’d never get past Wikipedia’s entry for “Dailies” which as you may or may not know is a term that refers to the process of watching the footage from a day of shooting a filmed project. I’ve had several people actually ask me if the name of our band is a reference to that process.
I think I’ve said it here before, but “The Dailies,” is a term we picked up from a friend of ours, who was prone to say things like… “You know… real life isn’t what happens at church, or at work, or when you’re putting on your game face. Real life happens in the dailies, the common moments, the allegedly hum drum.” We heard this several times, and it resonated with us.
It also sounded a lot like an indie rock band, so that didn’t hurt.
Our friend was also known for saying, “Take some time to Be Good to each other.”
Be careful what you say near us. You may end up in a hook somewhere.
Well, anyways… thanks everyone. It’s the fact that you’ve visited here that has made this little victory possible. I sincerely appreciate your presence here. We’re still hard at work, and we go to mix on August 25th, so the clock is ticking. Keep checking, keep commenting. Your comments remind us that we’re not just shouting into an abyss, and you have no idea of the encouragement they brings us.

It’s a screenshot of my iTunes, extended so you can see the play count. It seems God Of My Future is my favorite. :/ XD
We’re kicking the stuffing out of DC Talk and Dave Crowder Band. Nice.
Christy has “What It Is” as her ringtone. God bless the iPhone.
and The Dailies.
